Royal Engineers Reinforcements.
Drowned at Sea off Malta en route to Alexandria, Egypt on 15th April 1917, aged 20.

Enlisted 17th February 1916  – service records survive.
SS Cameronia was travelling en route to Alexandria, Egypt from Marseille, France, when it was torpedoed by [German] U-33 submarine whilst 150 nautical miles from Malta.  Carrying 2650 troops, the ship sank in 40 minutes with the loss of 210 lives.

Commemorated on the Chatby Memorial, Alexandria, Egypt.
